What is Celiac Sprue? Celiac disease is a genetic disorder. In people with celiac disease, eating certain types of protein, called gluten, sets off an autoimmune response that causes damage to the small intestine. This causes the small intestine to lose its ability to absorb the nutrients found in food, leading to malnutrition and a variety of other complications. There is no cure. The only treatment is a lifelong adherence to a gluten-free diet.

Green Acres Gluten Free Day - Sat May 5

This Saturday, May 5th, GreenAcres is having a gluten free festival from 11:00 to 3:00, and will have samples of gluten free foods out for tasting. They have asked us to have a table.
