Gluten-Free Cooking Class

It's finally scheduled!  We will be having a cooking class/demonstration in May.

Where:  East Evangelical Free Church (Harry and 143rd)
When:  Saturday, May 18, 2013 230p-5p
Cost:  $10/person

We will be teaching and demonstrating 4 items.

Hawaiian Bread
Spring Rolls
Crockpot Beef Bourguignon (Beef and mushrooms in a wine sauce)
Angel Food Cake

There will be tasting!  If you are interested in attending, please email the chapter at Wichitacsa@yahoo.com.  Please include the names for any attendees.  There is limited room so be sure to reserve your spot soon!  Money is due at the start of class and will be covering the cost of ingredients and rental of the church and kitchen.

Added 04/05/13:  The recipes will be given out at the class.  However, I know for sure that at least the first 3 items are OK for those with Tree nut allergies.

Gluten-Free Picnic in the Park

You and your family are invited to a bar-b-q with the Wichita Celiac Chapter on Saturday, September 22, at 5:00 at the Sedgwick County Park, Horseshoe Pavilion. Hamburgers and hotdogs, along with gluten free buns, regular buns, condiments, and drinks will be provided. Please bring a gluten-free side dish or dessert—either homemade or purchased. We also ask that you provide recipes or the package ingredients list for your item. If the recipe is from a book or website, please include the source.

The Horseshoe Pavilion is an enclosed, air conditioned building, so we will meet rain or shine. Playground, walking paths, and a horseshoe-pitching area are all close to the pavilion, providing fun for the family.

For those interested in information on diagnosing celiac or gluten sensitivity, Ramona Ryker will have several handouts and present information on the subject. There will be a time for questions and sharing of tips for gluten-free eaters.

Directions to the Park: Sedgwick County Park is located just west of the Sedgwick County Zoo at 21st Street and Zoo Boulevard. Enter the park from the 21st street entrance and stay on the main road. You will see the playground and Horseshoe Pavilion on your left.

Celiacs Eating Out (CEO)

Plan to join the group for Saturday lunch, October 27, at Jason's Deli, 21st and Ridge, at 1:00. You can enjoy delicious sandwiches and salads, and the conversation is always helpful.
